The Rice presidential search has begun in earnest. The initial task was to produce a "white paper" outlining our vision of Rice's present, the challenges and opportunities it faces, and our vision of the kind of leader we need. This is available as a pdf file on the web and can be downloaded by clicking the hot link white paper. The position has been advertised in the Chronicle of Higher Education. We are presently contacting "sources" (individuals who might be expected to know suitable prospects for the job) around the country and have started receiving applications.
